As part of supplier selection, information about the suppliers is obtained from selfassessments and their strategic importance is determined. RWE then conducts supplier ratings based on defined criteria and a company-wide, uniform system. The results are communicated internally and made available to the suppliers. The rating results and strategic importance are cornerstones for supplier classification. Based on these, RWE derives recommendations for action and measures for supplier development. Supplier optimization is carried out, based on concrete measure plans for quality improvement, cost reduction and risk minimization.
